Blood Moon Eclipses over Israel: Signs

The December 21, 2010, lunar eclipse dazzled viewers across North America. This image is a two-exposure combination taken in Mead, Colorado, by attaching a digital camera to a 4-inch telescope. Photo by Richard McCoy

By Teddy Chadwick

On June 15, 2011, there will be a full lunar eclipse visible only in Israel, parts of Africa, and the Middle East, as well as parts of Asia and Australia; but VERY well seen in Israel, AND visible in the night sky for a longer period of time than normal.  Arguably, this bit of info is quite significant, depending upon what you know about prophecy, eschatology, and current world events.  Let’s check into it a bit further:

Background:

A full lunar eclipse is a bit rare.  It’s called a blood moon because only the infra-red band of light gets around the earth and bounces off the moon to be seen by us, only in certain places on the globe depending on the angle.  What’s even more rare is when 4 of these blood moons happen in a row.

(Additional background about moon signs here).

What’s even more rare is when all four of these consecutive blood moons occur on YHWH’s Feast Days, commonly and erroneously known as Jewish Festivals.  (In the Bible, the Feasts are called “The Feasts of YHWH,” never “Jewish Feasts”).

So, four consecutive blood moons, all occurring on Feasts of YHWH.  And that’s what is going to happen in 2014 and 2015.  Meaning, Israel will see the world will witness full lunar eclipses on Passover 2014, Tabernacles 2014, Passover 2015, and Tabernacles 2015.

Ok, back up a little, and let’s get a few questions out of the way:

“Does YHWH use the moon for signs?”

Yes: Genesis 1:14, Luke 21:25.

“Are Feasts relevant to YHWH, and related to the moon?”

Yes: Leviticus 23.

“Are blood-red moons prophetic in Scripture?”

Yes: Joel 2:10,31; Acts 2:20; Rev. 6:12.

Update: I just received a photo of the June 15 eclipse so I’ll insert it below:

June 15, 2011 Blood Moon Eclipse Photo by Mr. Roberts, Brisbane Australia

Ok, so after the June 15 2011 blood moon, we have a group of four consecutive blood moons in 2014-2015, ALL occurring on YHWH’s Feast Days.  When’s the last time this happened?
Oh, 1967-1968.   The season of the 6 Days War in Israel.  That would be the one where Jerusalem became a unified city under Jewish rule for the first time in like, 2000 years.
Four consecutive blood moons (full lunar eclipses) occurring each time on Moedim (appointed times of YHWH): namely, Passover 1967, Tabernacles 1967, Passover 1968, Tabernacles 1968.
Terms:
Blood moon = full lunar eclipse
Tetrad = four consecutive blood moons
Jewish Tetrad = a Tetrad where each of four consecutive blood moon occurs on a Festival of Leviticus 23.
So, the world previously witnessed a Jewish Tetrad in ’67-’68.
When is the previous time before that?
Oh, 1949-1950.
Passover 1949, Tabernacles 1949, Passover 1950, Tabernacles 1950.
Some say that’s the fig tree blossoming, others might say it would be 1967, either way:
Mt 24:32-33, Lk 21:30-31
And the previous occurrence of four consecutive blood moons, on YHWH’s Feast Days?
1492-1493.  I believe that the significance of this could be related to the Spanish Inquisition and Columbus’ discovery of North America, which arguably became the “wilderness” that the woman of Revelation 12:6 escaped to (the Body of Messiah escaping persecution for a time).
Notice that after 1493, about five centuries pass without another occurrence of this phenomenon – until 1949, as newly reborn Israel is fighting for her life.
Then 1967-68.  Next is 2014-2015.  I wonder what is in store then?
And to start this next season off, we have blood moons in 2011: June 15 and Dec. 10.
Neither of these blood moons in 2011 occur on a Feast Day; however, they “bracket” a season which encloses the 2014-2015 Tetrad (4-in-a-row) occurring on Feast Days.
The other “bracket” would be the following blood moon on July 27, 2018.
2014-2015 is exactly in the center of the 7-year timeframe from 2011 to 2018.
Teddy’s note:  I have personally cross-checked the Feast dates for 1949, 1950, 1967, 1968, 2014, and 2015 according to Hebcal and Torah Calendar and the dates do line up with both calendars.
So, given the significant events which have happened in 1492-3, 1949-50, and 1967-8, what can we expect in 2014-5?
Who knows?  But with the nations talking of dividing the Land of Israel to create a Palestinian State, it sounds like a plan which attempts to take action against YHWH’s land:
Isa 54:15 Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee [Israel] shall fall for thy [Israel’s] sake… (17) No weapon that is formed against thee [Israel] shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of YHWH, and their righteousness is of me, saith YHWH.
Jer 32:40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.

“The last Jewish Tetrad happens to be bracketed perfectly by two central lunar eclipses which naturally define both a seven year period according to Daniel 9 and a seventy year period according to Luke 21:32, and Psalms 90:10.
“And as a final note ALL of the eclipses that fall on high holidays, happen to be visible from Jerusalem.”

Lastly, a word from June 12 (by my count of the Omer, that’s Pentecost/Shavuot 2011!!) from Prophet Kim Clement:

“My hand is opening an extraordinary door, leading to something glorious that I’ve kept specifically for this generation. The marketplace will be shaken and my Spirit shall cause wells to spring up in places least expected.

“On Tuesday, I require all of My warriors to shut their mouths.” Wow! A silent day? Impossible. But then He proceeded, “I want to hear NO COMPLAINING or negative words proceeding from their mouths on Tuesday specifically.”

Malachi 3:16:

“Then those who feared the Lord SPOKE TO ONE ANOTHER…..AND THE LORD LISTENED….AND HEARD THEM; SO A BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE WAS WRITTEN BEFORE HIM FOR THEM THAT FEARED THE LORD, AND THAT THOUGHT UPON HIS NAME.”   The word “spoke” in Hebrew is Dabar which means to “commune, command, declare, pronounce and subdue.” The word “thought” is Chashab which means, “to value and weave.”   YES!!!!

Romans 12:2

And be not conformed to this world; but be you transformed by the renovation of your minds: and discern you what is the good and acceptable and perfect pleasure of Elohim. (Romans 12:2 AENT)

Get your copy of the AENT at our site JTOD.org

How do we “discern” the “pleasure” of Elohim? How do we begin to know what gives Him pleasure? What kind of Wisdom do we need to know this? How do we obtain this Knowledge?

Answer: The Fear of YHWH.

The fear of YHWH is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. (Ps 111:10 AV)

The fear of YHWH is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Pr 1:7 AV)

The fear of YHWH is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy (Set Apart) is understanding. (Pr 9:10 AV)

Notice that in most English translations (which are from the Greek), the verse in Romans speaks of discerning the “will” of Elohim. That word is ok, in that doing His commandments is certainly according to His will. However it gets confused with a fatalist kind of Father-imagery, as if He dictates to us different levels of the bulls’ eye of His will, i.e. shall we go to college or get a job. However, as we read in the Aramaic English New Testament, the word “pleasure” is more suitable; it speaks toward what we can do to please Him.

Do we want to please Him? Do we actually LOVE Him?

And by this we will be sensible that we know him, if we keep his Commandments… He that says “I am in him” is bound to walk according to his halakha. My beloved, I write no new commandment to you, but the old Commandment which you had from the beginning; and the old Commandment is the Word which you have heard. (1 John 2:3,6&7 AENT)

If you love me, keep my commandments. (John 14:15 AENT)

We offer the AENT here at JTOD.org.

Halakha הלכה / How To Walk

And by this we will be sensible that we know him, if we keep his Commandments… He that says “I am in him” is bound to walk according to his halakha. My beloved, I write no new commandment to you, but the old Commandment which you had from the beginning; and the old Commandment is the Word which you have heard.

(1 John 2:3,6&7 AENT pg.652)

“Halakha” in Hebrew, הלכה means “the way of walking.”

Halakha (הלכה) comes from the verb “lelekhet” ללכת which means “to go, to walk; to go ahead; to leave, to pass, to disappear; to follow.”

In Biblical lifestyle, Halakha הלכה means to base one’s life upon the written Word of Elohim.

In Judaism, however, Halakha הלכה refers to following traditions of men. Those traditions are often based upon the Word, but quite often conflict with the Word as well. According to tradition, if the tradition conflicts somehow with the Word, the tradition trumps the Word. At least, that’s what the tradition says!

In the verse above, however, we are not taught to follow the traditions of men. When we read that “Yeshua is our Halakha” this means that He shows us the way we must walk, according to the way He walked.

This is what it means to be a disciple: To walk as He walked.

Yeshua walked according to the Word. He is the Word (John 1). The Word is the same Word from the beginning (Genesis: “In the Beginning”):

My beloved, I write no new commandment to you, but the old Commandment which you had from the beginning; and the old Commandment is the Word which you have heard. (1 John 2:7 AENT pg.652)

What then is the Way in which we should walk ללכת?

Yeshua is the Way.

Yeshua is the Walking.

Yeshua is הלכה.

Y’shua said to him, “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father except by me.” (John 14:6 AENT pg.280).

For those interested in a study Bible, we offer the Aramaic English New Testament (AENT) over at JTOD.org.

Aramaic English New Testament

Y’shua’s Blood Offered in the Heavenly Sanctuary

Today, I am going to give answer to a ‘Jews for Judaism’ statement which misreads the context of Leviticus 17:11:
“Clearly, not any spilled blood is accepted by the Torah as a sacrifice.  Jesus’ crucifixion may qualify as an atonement according to the Greek Testament, but since his blood was not offered on the altar, it is not in line with what the Torah mandates.” -Jews for Judaism, “Another Look at Leviticus 17:11”
If something seems “off” in the statement above, you are correct; there are several things wrong with that paragraph.  First,  the phrase “not any spilled blood is accepted…” means that obviously, pig’s blood for example is not acceptable– and, in the writers’ opinion, neither is Jesus/Y’shua’s, ostensibly because his blood was not offered in the earthly Temple.

However, the writer(s) missed an important fact:  The blood of Yeshua was offered in Heaven, the True Sanctuary which trumps the earthly sanctuary.   The earthly Temple was a mere representation; a picture of the Heavenly Sanctuary.

This is the reason why Yeshua’s blood did not need to be offered in the earthly temple made with hands.  As Paul explained to the Hebrew disciples of Y’shua haMashiach:

“Because everything, according to Torah, is purified with blood: and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin.  For it was necessary that these, the representations of heavenly things, should be purified with those things [shedding of blood]; but the heavenly things themselves, with a sacrifice [which is Y’shua] superior to them [that is, superior to the earthly representations of the heavenly things.  In other words, Y’shua the Messiah is superior to the Temple].

(v.24) “For the Mashiyach entered not into the sanctuary made with hands which is the emblem of the true (sanctuary): but he entered into heaven itself to appear in the presence of Elohim for us.”  – Hebrews 9:22-24 (AENT p.414 [my emphasis added])

That is the answer sought by any Hebrew person who is familiar with the Temple: Y’shua haMashiach, as sacrifice, is superior to the earthly temple.  His blood offered in the heavenly sanctuary trumps whatever blood might be offered in the earthly.

Now, without faith, no one can accept the book of Hebrews.  Without faith, no one can accept the Mashiyach even if He has been sent by YHWH.  In fact, without faith, how can one accept even the Biblical account of the Passover?   However, WITH and THRU FAITH, it is clear that anyone, Jew or Gentile, can accept  the pure and spotless sacrifice of Y’shua’s blood.  It has been offered in the Sanctuary in Heaven, and His blood does in fact qualify as the perfect atonement for sin, once and for all.

As regarding Leviticus 17:11, the J4J writer(s) neglected the context.  Clearly, Leviticus 17:10-16 is about the eating of blood; and that it is forbidden not only for tribes of Israel, but also for “sojourners” (Strong’s 01616 גר ger) that is, those from any nations who live with Israel.  In other words, since blood is for sacrifice, therefore eating blood is forbidden.  Arguably according to Ephesians 2 and Romans 2, this  applies to any who have been grafted in to Israel (Romans 11) through the blood of Y’shua the Messiah.

The J4J quote reference to the “Greek  testament”  intends to point out how far the faith in Yeshua is from the Hebrew faith.  (Too bad he doesn’t yet know about the Aramaic NT!)  In truth, the Renewed Covenant (Brit Chadasha aka NT) affirms an extraordinary amount of connection between the Tanakh (aka OT) and the Brit Chadasha:  The blood sacrifice of Y’shua haMashiach ABSOLUTELY satisfies EVERY requirement for Temple sacrifice and thus provides Atonement, for Hebrews as well as those joined to Israel through faith.

Yeshua Removes Virus From Baby

This week in our home group in Rosh haAyin, one of the women shared about how she and Teddy had prayed for her infant daughter’s healing a few days ago, and that out prayer was very strong (“chazak” in Hebrew). We agreed in prayer that the virus had no right being in the baby’s body, and that the sickness must leave in Yeshua’s name.

The very next day the diarrhea had completely stopped! It had been so bad, it threatened her fluid levels.

Glory to Yeshua!!

Report from Sweden

Shalom and grace in the name of Yeshua of Nazareth our Messiah. This is Teddy Chadwick, I’m an American living in Jerusalem, currently on a speaking tour in Sweden, my mom’s homeland. I want to let folks know what’s going on over here so we can join together in prayer for the Kingdom of YHVH to advance. For six weeks so far (since June 15) I have been crisscrossing the land of Sverige ministering the Kingdom of Heaven through preaching, teaching, prayer, and singing. I’ve shared among other things that Jesus’ real name is Yeshua, which in Hebrew/Aramaic means “YHVH has become Salvation.” Of course, I do miss Israel, but the work here is a tough groundbreaking and plowing job that needs to be done.

Sweden prides itself at being the most secular state in the West, and a self-styled leader in secularism. In my travels among the congregations and people I find that the Gospel is viewed as something irrelevant to the general public. I have found some school programs where believers are going into the schools to provide some life as a cultural presentation of Christianity. I did find a couple of outreach programs through outdoor cafe-type activities that seek to strike up conversations with unbelievers and bring them to repentance from things like alcoholism and such things, which is great. I talked to some young people who have an active testimony which they’re willing to share with others, and that’s exciting. Until recently most people were born as automatic members of the State Church of Sweden; yet, the actual percentage of the population which is actively seeking to be disciples is around 3 percent, I’m told. Still, I have found this 3 percent to be quite devoted as they certainly feel like “the minority.”

There is a Church of Sweden (Lutheran) which was the official State Church until a few years ago, but still retains most of the trappings of a government-organized system. There are three movements within this; one towards more tradition, one towards charismaticism (like pentecostals but without any real fire), and one middle-ground movement. I ministered in prayer and worship at a conference of the pentecostal branch of the Church of Sweden and became quite convinced that if there’s no repentance the whole authority structure there is top-heavy control and manipulation that effectively quenches any true move of the Ruach haKodesh. Further, I see clear signs that the pentecostal branch is moving towards Rome, having adopted the adoration of icons and the Roman version of the Nicene Creed (in the conference which I attended) which differs slightly from the Lutheran version of the creed. During one meeting of the conference (which they called a "Mass") they had several "testimonies" related to miracles revolving around icons in some fashion. They had a time of singing in the Spirit which felt like it was written into the program, which is not to say that it was illegitimate. I kept asking people whether the doctrine states that the bread and wine are symbols or that they switch into the actual body and blood of Messiah, and since I couldn’t get any definite answers, I was reticent about partaking in communion. However, as I observed the parade of joyless bearing a burning censer along with a "Jesus Pole," soon finding out the meeting was called a "Mass," and especially getting the creeps during the testimonies related to icons and the reading of the Creed, I decided that we were going to make a prophetic act and walk out before the communion. There are many dear souls who attended that meeting who, I feel, have true hearts that are seeking the Father; however, we just did not feel clear in the Spirit to join in at such a level of intimacy.

There is also a free-church movement in Sweden, some pentecostal and some missions churches. There seems to be quite a bit more freedom there. However, the pentecostal churches are viewed as a single denomination rather than a bunch of sovereign assemblies. The missions churches are also a denomination.

I spent most of my time in free assemblies which are not attached to any denominations at all. There is a move of the prophetic in these groups which is refreshing, with corporate and individual words of prophecy being given out, in some case only by the leader, in other cases by the members which are encouraged by the leader to stretch and stir up this gift. It is these type of groups that the Father has brought me into closest contact with on this trip. I have found the people to be helpful and eager to listen to such a one from Israel, as they differ from the mainstream society in their support for Israel. However, the amount of Christian support is absolutely nothing like that of Norway or Finland, for example. A Swedish Prime Minister in the 60’s became buddies with Yassir Arafat after the Six Days’ War and ever since, Israel can do no good in the eyes of the Swedish public.

I found these small groups to be rather open to hear from the Word, yet, they seem conditioned to accept mainly a preacher vs. audience style delivery, even though these groups are normally less than twenty people. As I sought to teach with a responsive/interactive style, asking questions and forcing people to look at the Bible verses and come up with some answers, I usually found it was like pulling teeth at first. Swedes are fairly conditioned to never share their opinion about things, and generally, all "controversial" topics are immediately dropped without notice, in private conversations. However I found that with a little lovin’ care these small groups could be coaxed to respond a little, but it was tough at first. There is almost zero Berean culture here; that of searching the Scriptures to find if anything is true. I found that some of the things that I taught were soon nullified by the group leader through cell phone calls with the members, or perhaps small comments in the meeting, with barely any Scriptural backing. Because these leaders are "prophetic," there seems to be no need for them to support their traditions with the Bible. I am believing that the planted seeds will grow eventually, but I am a bit disheartened that all my hours and hours of Scripture-based teaching can be undone in such a lame way.

There is also a fledgeling Messianic movement here, with which I have very little contact so far. However I have quickly become aware that the non-divinity of Yeshua HERESY is already taking root. I hope to visit with a Hebrew-roots style pentecostal group one of these days to soundly dispel this myth. This group happens to be in the same town where the leader of a Messianic association of congregations resides, who has this belief, so I hope to make Scripture bandages and stop the bleeding if possible. 1 Corinthians 12:3 is particularly helpful in this, as in the Aramaic it states clearly that Yeshua is YHVH.

The most popular Bible translation here seems to be the "Folk Bibeln," a decent Greek-based translation; however, there is also the "Bibeln 2000" which is a horrendous slash and burn parody which was commissioned by the State in order to present a Book which is nonoffensive to Christians, Muslims, Seculars, homosexuals, you get the idea. It’s quite a poor portrayal of YHVH. I picked up a Gideon’s Swedish/English diglot which pairs the Swedish Bibeln 2000 together with the English NKJV; Within seconds I can see that many verses of the Bibeln 2000 are truncated or completely removed, on practically every page. This is an NT with Psalms and Proverbs. I am actually aghast that such a printing ever got off the presses; but again, the culture here strongly discourages voicing any opinions so this is fertile ground for such a travesty. I’ve also met with some folks from the Bible Society of Sweden and found that they are promoting the Bibleln 2000 as well, in various printed versions.

My goal is to insert the Aramaic English New Testament into this situation here to help restore the true Scriptures to the people. I am hoping it will prompt a lively discussion and searching in the Word. As such, I have introduced the AENT to many people here, and set up a web page for Swedes (and Scandinavians) to place orders:

I have travelled through towns with streets and squares named after pagan Viking false dieties, and one city name refers to trolls, mythical beings of pagan lore. Many of the traditional Church of Sweden buildings are erected on the former sites of pagan rituals, so as to make smooth transition. When an early king of Sweden converted to Christianity, he used a good amount of pressure to force the people to likewise convert, although not as much as in Norway, I’m told. So what I think I’m dealing with here is a nation which has never truly separated from paganism, except in a superficial way.

With all this, I am hopeful. I have met with prayer warriors, preachers, and intercessors who are tuned into the Ruach who have taken me on prayer missions and appointments which have been powerful and fruitful; yet I do not feel I should go into detail here. On the west coast of Sweden I came across a town named "Gravene" which means "Graves." The reason being, the locals used to place false light signals along the coast in order to disturb the navigation of the passing cargo ships. In the storms, the ships would wreck on the rocky coast, and the people would grab all the loot. The bodies of the ships’ crew would wash up on the shore of the town which became known as "Graves." Currently, the town has been renamed "Kungsholm" (King’s Home). Let’s believe together that a mighty move of YHVH would break out across Sweden, bringing in a solid harvest into the Kingdom of Heaven, with a deep revelation of our true Divine Messiah, Yeshua of Nazareth.

Touring in Sweden

Shalom and blessings from Jerusalem!

Today we head out to Stockholm for a home-groups tour in Southern Sweden. I’d really appreciate your prayers.

I’ll be sharing in Song and in the Word as I travel among the believers in Gotheburg, Stockholm, Orebro, and a few other places. I’ll have my harp, some Yerubilee CD’s, and a bunch of Bibles with me to spread the Word.

The Aramaic English New Testament is going strong and now we have an opportunity to bring her into a nation that is as yet untouched.

Meanwhile our Bibles for Africa program is going well. With every Bible I sell the Publisher is putting bucks aside for our fund to release the Aramaic English New Testament in Africa. So feel welcome to go place your order today. Please place orders (shipping to USA) here: http://JTOD.org/AENT.cfm
